Marion High School’s annual blood drive will be held on October 11 through LifeBlood. Over the past few years, there has been a great turnout of students. If the amount of blood reaches the designated goal, scholarship money will be rewarded that students can apply for.

Giving blood at school has several benefits. It allows students to save three lives, receive a snack, a drink, a free t-shirt and a chance to get out of class!

In order to give blood, you must be at least 16, weigh at least 115 pounds and have good iron levels. Eating a good breakfast and drinking enough fluids is very important.

“It is just a little pinch and maybe slight bruising, but it is nothing compared to saving someone’s life,” Mrs. Blackford said regarding the pain.
